Lamborghini Revuelto vs Ferrari SF90 Stradale: Which Hybrid Flagship Wins?

Prices checked Jul 20262 sourcesHow we check facts

Short answer: the SF90 has more total power and is the more technically ferocious car, the most powerful Ferrari road car ever made. The Revuelto counters with a naturally aspirated V12 that may never be replaced, and the drama that comes with it. Choose the SF90 for the scalpel; choose the Revuelto for the opera. There is no wrong answer at this level.

This is the flagship hybrid question. Both cars use electric motors to reach nearly 1,000 horsepower, both hit 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and both cost well over a million dollars on Australian roads. But they arrive at those numbers in completely opposite ways, and that difference is the entire decision. Our full Lamborghini Revuelto review and Ferrari SF90 Stradale review cover each in full.

The Numbers Side by Side

Engine Revuelto: 6.5L NA V12 + 3 e-motors · SF90: 4.0L twin-turbo V8 + 3 e-motors
Combined power Revuelto: 696 kW (947 hp) · SF90: 735 kW (1,000 hp)
Torque Revuelto: 900 Nm · SF90: 800 Nm
0-100 km/h Revuelto: 2.5 sec · SF90: 2.5 sec
Top speed Revuelto: 350 km/h · SF90: 340 km/h
Redline Revuelto: 9,500 rpm · SF90: ~8,000 rpm

Two Engines, Two Souls

The Revuelto keeps a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 577 kW (785 hp) on its own, adds three electric motors, and delivers a combined 696 kW (947 hp) and 900 Nm, spinning to 9,500 rpm. The SF90 Stradale uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 making 574 kW on its own, paired with three electric motors for a combined 735 kW (1,000 hp) and 800 Nm. The Ferrari has more total power and torque delivery that feels physically relentless; the Lamborghini has the more dramatic, higher-revving engine and the greater sense of occasion.

The Lamborghini Case

The Revuelto’s V12 is the emotional heart of this comparison. It is one of the last all-new naturally aspirated V12 engines Lamborghini plans to develop, and at full revs it sounds like nothing else currently on sale. Lamborghini invested heavily in the acoustic experience, tuning intake, exhaust and cabin insulation to put that twelve-cylinder wail front and centre. The car also keeps the scissor doors and the theatrical presence that define a flagship Lamborghini. If a flagship should be an event before it is a lap time, the Revuelto wins before you turn a wheel.

The Ferrari Case

The SF90 is the more technically ferocious machine. It is the most powerful Ferrari road car ever made, it drives all four wheels via its front electric motors, it offers four driving modes including a pure-electric eDrive for around 25 km, and its torque-fill from three motors makes the acceleration feel like a physical event. Where the Revuelto is theatre, the SF90 is a precision instrument, and for the buyer who wants the outright cutting edge of Ferrari engineering, nothing else in the range competes – see our piece on hypercar halo cars for the lineage this fits into.

Cost of Ownership at This Level

Neither is remotely cheap. The SF90 lands in Australia at roughly $950,000 to over a million before options, with a well-specified car pushing past $1.2 million on the road; the Revuelto sits higher again, from approximately $1.1 to $1.3 million before options, with LCT and personalisation routinely taking builds past $1.5 million. Servicing runs to specialist figures for both, and each carries a high-voltage battery whose long-term replacement cost is not yet a known quantity. At this altitude, the purchase price is the headline and the running costs are a rounding error, but they are real.

Verdict

If you want raw technology, four-wheel-drive traction and the most powerful Ferrari yet built, the SF90 Stradale wins. If you want the drama of a naturally aspirated V12 that may never be replaced, the Revuelto wins. Both are extraordinary, and the choice is not about which is quicker – they are separated by a tenth – but about whether you want the scalpel or the opera.
